Hey Folks,

I might be biased, but I've been working for a company called Beutel Goodman in T.O and despite a lot of people knocking it online & otherwise, I actually like working there.

I've been here for a few years and in that time I've watched it bring new diverse talent, host monthly social events, foster mentorship spaces for its new employees, and generally work hard to keep everyone happy & proud to be here. I know there were problems in the past, but I think it's over the worst of it.

Have you left a review on their Glassdoor page in defense of them? I feel people do rely a lot on a company's Glassdoor site to understand the culture and WLB of a company. I'd make sure to leave a review there.

Of course, no prob! I'm sure they'll be happy to receive such a positive review :)

Hey, that's awesome! And I'm sure I speak for your boss when I say that having an employee express the positive changes happening within the company is a true blessing. Things happen, company changes need to be made, but your statement is proof that a company can reassess and come out on top.

like

So true! And I'm totally guilty of being in a declining company and ignoring the positive changes happening around me just from feeling stuck for so long, so this is a great reminder for us all that it can and does happen.

That is really nice to hear. It seems like all I hear these days are negative reviews of companies so it is always nice to hear when someone actually enjoys what they do or where they work. Thank you for sharing this.

Anytime, just trying to pay the good and positivity I've recieved forward. I'm definitely a believer of cheerleading for people and practices I approve of, and so far, I've got no complaints.

Does BNP APAC does background verification before sending offer letter or after sending the offer letter?

I have not been asked about the educational certificates yet.

They have only asked the PAN, PASSPORT and Current employer salalry slips and promotion letter.

P.s - I have recieved the offer letter now.

Will they be still doing any background verification or this is done ?

Advice needed on handing in notice, I recently signed an offer letter and understand the screening process takes 4-6 weeks. I have a month's notice period and have agreed a preliminary start date in Feb.

I was planning on not handing my notice in until the checks had been completed so its all secured (not that I think I will fail any checks), but apparently I need a reference from my current employer not previous ones. Can't really do this without handing in notice can I?

I'm the only employee with a background in finance in a tech startup growing at a 300%+ per year. Any advice/mentorship would be wonderful!

I applied to a job at KPMG and did the first two rounds of interviews, general interview, then case study and competency. Never before have I had such a positive feedback at the end of an interview of the 2nd, both said really like me, I did well etc.
It's now been 3 weeks since the interview and I still haven't heard back from the team other than the odd HR email saying they are following up with them. Is there something going on internally, I.e hiring freeze in the London office atm?
