Exl offices not opening anytime soon right ?
Hi all
Few months back, I accepted @pwc india's offer but didn't join.
Now I was referred for @pwc US but as I was applying for the job, the portal shows previous application with status as offer accepted.
Will pwc consider me again?
Does anyone have any idea on this?
Has someone accepted the offer but didn't join and later joined again after some months?
Please let me know
Any inputs will be helpful
Thanks!

Take the shrm if you can, it’s not too hard. Trust me I’m a terrible test taker like c/d average on all my college exams. And the shrm was not hard, like I got 100%. The best advice I got was, think behavioral on Hr exams. Think about ethical ways to act and it’ll help you find the right answer.
You just need to dedicate and push yourself. Sacrifice your leisure time and weekends until august. Thirty minutes to an hour every day should be more than enough. Trust me I feel your struggle, I’m getting my MBA right now. Every day for me is working 10 hours a day (commute time factored in), resting for 30 minutes, a solid 2-3 hours of homework, dinner, bed, repeat. It’s not fun, but the hard work will pay off.
Thank you !
Take a practice exam without studying to see where you fall. Based on the score you’ll either get discouraged or light a fire in your behind to improve.
Take a practice exam. Break the sections into small pieces make a study guide with flash cards that you can use to study while in break for work, while waiting for food. Etc
I know how hard it is to work a full time job and go to school. Ask your partners to quiz you. Try to make fun and engaging.
If you have a friend or if you can find a study partner either on the PHR group or a friend go for a coffee and ask them to quiz you. Take vitamins, eat food that’s nourishing for your body. That can help.
Best of lucks!
Thank you!
I had to push myself to find the energy to study. I made myself review one chapter of my study book each week. I reviewed key term flash cards in the morning and before bed. I downloaded the pocket prep app and answered test prep questions anytime I had a free moment.
I passed the exam in October 2020. My advice would be give yourself goals of reading a chapter a week, then closer to the exam go hard with rereading and studying flash cards. What really helped me was doing the PHR Pocket Prep app during my spare time. Hope this helps, good luck!
Upvote. Ditto this- Pocket Prep app PHR quizzes ftw! Worth the subscription. And with that said, MindEdge virtual class was useless (I added it bc they had a promo and offered it for free, I kinda wish I didn’t even use that material and went straight for the Reed 5th Ed guide book)
I used audio books to help me study. I was able to listen to them in the car. It worked like a charm.
What audio books did you listen to?
No advice but I hear you! I want to take it in the early fall and haven’t bought any study materials yet. It really does feel like a lot on top of everything else.
It truly does. I wonder if I know everything lol
I needed help studying, so I took an official prep course. 10 weeks, super helpful. Study group that helped, since they were way smarter than me
I was going to suggest this! Also, take some time off closer to the exam - you might be able to get it as professional development time, so definitely talk to your manager!
Save your PTO, take 2 and half weeks off, study 6-7 hours every day. Get your 8 hours of sleep 😴. Go back to work with test date scheduled. 3 weeks later, walk into work with your certification.
I can’t take two weeks off. I can’t really take a day without things get overwhelming when I get back
SPHR is my next goal.I took my SHRM-CP and passed with a week of intense studing.I will say I was in school so I was also studying my textbooks especially laws and benefits and compensation.I made myself flash cards with those subjects as well. Does the PHR have a Mometrix study program? I found the free 30 day trial of Mometrix online with practice tests to be what I really needed.
I did a certification prep class, and it was life consuming for the 13 weeks. So much reading, studying, and class time (we had weekly quizzes). This was luckily a few years before I had my son, otherwise I don't know how I would have done it. That being said, after all that, the certification test seemed fairly easy.
Have you discussed your challenges with your employer? What support could they offer? It may be helpful to point out how certification helps the business too.
I totally get the struggle of finding the time and energy. Although I prepped for a different certification, I made studying a part of my workday, arriving early and devoting one hour when I first got in before getting busy with work. I also used my lunch hour to study while I ate, and devoted another hour after dinner.
Best of luck!
I took a 10-week prep course and studied more afterwards since some weeks I completely abandoned studying… it’s hard but every time I think about it giving up, I remind myself why I started and set the goal for myself to get the certification. I also make it a point to give myself small rewards (like a dessert) for finishing certain practice exams and reviews. Once you’re done with studies and pass the test, it’ll all be worth it! Hang in there
If your learning style permits, try some of the audio lessons. I bought the ConquerHR Bootcamp on demand and I listen to the audio portion at the gym, in the car, etc. Mometrix also has an audio option but it's a little harder to follow. Good luck?
I used the paid pocket prep app and used this Facebook group/bootcamp
3rd time taking and I passed in April.

Congratulations!! It’s my first time taking it and I’m so nervous I don’t know my stuff . I’m only at 80% on pocketprep
Can you take a week off to just concentrate on studying? Maybe sometime in Mid-July
You need to set a proper time table and need to focus my minimizing your distraction. Only you can improve you.
You just need to set up a study program and stick to it. It’s not easy sacrificing off time to study but you just have to. Stick to it and you will get through.
