Is rent downtown generally cheaper than Deep Ellum?
Looking at either renewing my lease downtown or moving to Deep Ellum. I’m wondering if I can negotiate Deep Ellum rent down by citing that my downtown apartment (similar amenities, sq ft, etc) is $400 cheaper. There’s only one building in particular I’m considering in Deep Ellum, I just can’t stomach paying almost $2k/mo for a regular one bedroom.

My boyfriend and I are moving from Chicago and are seriously struggling to find a place in Silver Lake or Los Feliz. It seems like there just isn’t anything available. Can anyone help? We’ve check Zillow, Craigslist and even Facebook Market Place daily.

This is a question about friendships. Two friends got into a really bad fight this past weekend. They have each asked me to hang out this weekend. What do I do? I don’t want to have to choose sides. One is a friend I’ve known a little longer and has been a good friend and so she would feel betrayed and angry if she knew I were still friends with her now-enemy. Evening! Dog owners who live in condo rentals downtown.. did you tell your landlord you had a dog? I’m in a rental with a lease that says no pets (i’m sure a common clause?) and i didn’t have any pets moving in. 6 months in, i got a puppy lol. I don’t want to invite potential conflict by updating my landlord, my lawyer partner says the no pets clause is void in toronto anyway - but I worry about a bad landlord reference if they find out i.e come for repairs.

Why did Toronto (or Canada?) change the exit signs from the classic red EXIT sign to the green running man? Wouldn’t it confuse more people especially elders in finding the exit?

Also isn’t it a waste of money for businesses to replace perfectly functional exit signs when renovating?
