Hey guys ,new to Glassdoor so my profile is out of wack. But i am newly seasoned finance intern for a non-profit while completing my last semester of my associates to move to my bachelors and been having complications. hired another intern 2 months after showing me the ropes. Now he has to go through training process there is not as much work to do somehow which I don’t understand. He has a bachelors and now I see there showing him stuff that I don’t even know and delegating grunt work to me

Focus on completing that degree. Everything until then will be grunt work with minimal career progression.

Wow hats off! What an amazing place to be! The work experience will speak for itself! Under current conditions finding an internship or co-op position that pays to keep the lights on is my biggest difficulty it seems! Your insight will not go unnoticed and can’t appreciate you enough! Hopefully all the cookies crumble in the right places haha.

Last week I had to explain to my child what “politics” (as in office politics) is. My child is going to a new high school and wants to play volleyball. There was a 3 day open “tryout” for incoming freshman for 2 teams. After the first day, she noticed that
1) there were obvious favorites (coaches are not even hiding that fact);
2) some can’t even play and got on the team,
3) some that can obviously play but did not get on the team;
4) decision were obviously made before the first day was over.
