I'm feeling incredibly anxious and honestly depressed right now because of work. I had already been feeling demotivated and wanting to leave but I was told on Monday that I was being out on probation for one year (I am not going into detail on this). Tell me your craziest experience working with a TV network. Here comes mine:

I'm American, but my family is mostly Colombian. I was told my aunt and cousins would come here for 2 weeks. I discovered they were going to be paid to appear in a famous Hispanic TV show, where a "judge" receives a case, hears the plaintiffs and defendants and renders a verdict. But of course, it's all fake and payed 😂 turns out she wanted me to go there (even though I don't work for that TV network) so she's sure she'll be paid at the end of the show. Wth did I just do.

What's the most ridiculous news you've seen this year?

Journalism is the best job in the world but I feel like people are less likely to take my work seriously because I am female. So it's like they automatically think the only things I would be good at writing about are fluffy little human interest stories. I'm just a reporter like everyone else. Is there some way I can tell my supervisor that yes, I do like those stories, but I like being a serious reporter even more?

Has anyone seen the movie Spotlight? It made me think again about the passion to find the perfect news, the one that would be really helpful and necessary to society.
