I haven’t seen one in the past 2 years of interviewing. A brief paragraph on the top of a resume is helpful - but full on cover letter I think is unnecessary.
I guess it’s more for a good first impression thing if you want to stand out. There’s no harm doing it if you feel it helps. I haven’t been doing it for any of my job applications lol. Maybe I should
See, to me, the fewer people who are including cover letters, the more it would make yours stand out to the recruiter. Either way, it's not like it would get your resume tossed out, so I don't see the harm in including one.
I don't use cover letters unless it is required by the company. I usually use a one page resume with all the information written on it. Recruiters or employers would rather read something brief about you in single paper rather than being redundant in writing.
It makes an imoression! It makes you look like you've put in extra effort and shows determination. There's nothing to lose if you do end up adding one in.
If it helps but yes, reecruiters tend to skip cover letters because they just take up more time.
