Sibling is 52 days sober from heroin/cocaine, but I just found a syringe and alcohol wipes under their pillow.

As of late, my work related anxiety has reached new levels and it’s really starting to affect me mentally. I’m part of a great team; I’m trusted and supported, have a great track record, there are no issues, and have been no incidents. Regardless, my professional self perception and confidence is so rattled as of late, it’s almost like a paralysis at times. I started a new job recently and then had my PTSD seriously triggered, plus a panic attack. I work for a small agency and manage our internal marketing acct. We had very few processes in place when I started. I’ve since created, implemented, and trained our dept. on project mgmt for clients and am trying to convince the owner to apply those principles to our internal jobs. They are resistant because they just want the work to be done and don’t “want to keep spending money on internal jobs”. I’m confused because we’re doing the work either way and “spending” in labor/resources.

my sister died this morning. I posted about her in a past post. Alcohol addiction, liver failure and then it taxed the kidneys too much, she went into cardiac arrest at 9 am and they could not save her. She was 51. Sad day for sure. Feels odd that she is no longer here. I just wish she could have had a better future.

Any meditation stories on recovery anyone willing to share? Did you have break through moments during meditation?

I went to the lease this last weekend. Not one drop of alcohol was had. That was the closest I’ve come to caving. 4 wheelers, killing dinner with big guns, doing manly things in God’s country. Beer is an absolute necessity during these events. Anyhow, I didn’t drink. Proud of myself. Monumental moment for me.

I know everyone will have different answers for this but how did you know it was time to get sober? I think it might be time for me to find a new job and pursue sobriety, but I don't feel like I'm a rock bottom which is the only time I've ever seen people really commit to it (my father). Apathy isn't the right word but I just kind of feel numb about everything and I think being sober would maybe help.
