Sibling is 52 days sober from heroin/cocaine, but I just found a syringe and alcohol wipes under their pillow.

They have been passing observed urine tests, how is it possible that they’re using? Any ideas?

Addiction is a sneaky smart foe. Nothing you can do unfortunately except take care of yourself and not protect them from any consequences. Al-anon or nar-anon meetings may help YOU- I’d encourage you to look up meetings in your area if you aren’t going already! Prayers for your sib.

My heart goes out to you OP. I second the comment(s) about al-anon to help you deal with loving an addict. Best of luck.

Maybe he was thinking about it, but didn’t actually do it. Is it a used syringe?

Also BCG, my brother ended up being my #1 support / confidant throughout my sobriety. I lied to his face for years and he never gave up on me. I just want to thank you on behalf of your sister. Addicts are NOT easy to love & help. If you ever need someone to talk to, please feel free to reach out to me.

100% sorry to say. Addicts cheat on urine tests all the time in brilliant ways. We're a crafty bunch.

As of late, my work related anxiety has reached new levels and it’s really starting to affect me mentally. I started a new job recently and then had my PTSD seriously triggered, plus a panic attack. Felt so on edge and low on emotional resources for over a week that I wasn’t myself and apparently really rubbed a few people the wrong way so I was called in for a talking to 😣. I let people know there were some personal things going on, but didn’t mention the PTSD—very unsure if that’s something to share, or if I’d be judged for it or... I don’t even know. Has anyone else dealt with PTSD and had it impact them at work, and how did you handle it?

Hey friends! I hope everybody has had a productive week and had an awesome weekend for those who enjoyed their holiday! This question is specifically for Amazon Web Services in sales.

So I am currently a potential candidate as an AAE. I was told that I would in the future have to prepare a mock deck and deal with objections.

Has anybody had to prepare them and what was the scenario?

Thanks everyone!

I work for a small agency and manage our internal marketing acct. We had very few processes in place when I started. I’ve since created, implemented, and trained our dept. on project mgmt for clients and am trying to convince the owner to apply those principles to our internal jobs. They are resistant because they just want the work to be done and don’t “want to keep spending money on internal jobs”. I’m confused because we’re doing the work either way and “spending” in labor/resources.

my sister died this morning. I posted about her in a past post. Alcohol addiction, liver failure and then it taxed the kidneys too much, she went into cardiac arrest at 9 am and they could not save her. She was 51. Sad day for sure. Feels odd that she is no longer here. I just wish she could have had a better future.

I know everyone will have different answers for this but how did you know it was time to get sober? I think it might be time for me to find a new job and pursue sobriety, but I don't feel like I'm a rock bottom which is the only time I've ever seen people really commit to it (my father). Apathy isn't the right word but I just kind of feel numb about everything and I think being sober would maybe help.
