Hi All! Executive Director/Private Banker role at JP Morgan, total comp range and details. More importantly, what are the day to days? Is it purely finding new clients cold? What are the aspects of the role. Thanks!

If you like meetings, this is the job for you. Planning meetings, strategy meetings, budget meetings, and meetings about to plan a meeting. I dream about meetings.

You say this, but meetings every day, all day, unless it’s your preferred work - is actual hell. You might be surprised how depressed you get being stuck in meetings all day.

ED level private bankers are expected to bring in new clients and new assets, two main factors on how their year-end bonuses will be determined. When I was there 9 yrs ago, ED base salary started at $200k.

This is great, thank you!

I believe Exec Directors get about $200K for that position at Morgan. At least that's how it was when I last checked.

What?!? Confused by the comments . I am pretty sure it is a sales development role - looking for private bank clients unless you are lucky enough to get a full portfolio of some of the bank’s wealthiest families .

Currently a Wealth Advisor for Citi but I honestly hate it here with a passion it’s the worst company I’ve ever worked for in my life and I’ve been in Wealth Management in the banking channel for over a decade. Series 7, Series 63, Life, CFP, ChFC, and soon to have my MBA with a focus in Mergers & Acquisitions. I’m look to enter another area of Finance at this point instead of starting over somewhere else from scratch, but not sure what direction to go. Interested in Investment Banking or M&A.

Curious what’s a fair salary in MA? Was just told that there is likely not going to be a chance for a raise during my upcoming performance review due to my salary already being “above average for the industry” based on my employer’s questionable research. I’ve been with the company 8.5 years & am the only one in my role, which they can’t operate without. I execute tasks from two investment advisors and two financial planners - they make the decisions of what should happen & I make it happen.

I have an offer and want to negotiate

1. London base salary but I have to absorb all the expenses (train + stay)
I am thinking to negotiate to

2. home base salary and have my expenses paid for

I know that's depends on the amount I have to travel (and potentially stay) but at the moment this is unknown. Past 8 months was just twice a month + 2 nights stay.

The only thing I know is it won't be every week, the return trian ticket is about £80-100, depends I could plan ahead.

I am a registered sales assistant which means I have my series 7. I also have the 63 and my Life & Health license. I was a financial advisor but the role is commission only so I decided to take a role as an assistant for some time to learn etc. I really like my role, but I only make 32k a year and after taxes I only take home about 25k. I have a gut feeling that I’m not being paid market value but it’s tough to find comparable salaries. Do you think $15.38/hr is a fair wage in this case?

Does anybody know what the typical salary range is and total comp for someone starting out as an internal or external wholesaler? If you are one of these, can you share about your experience in terms of whether you liked it or not, work life balance, travel, etc?
