Hi all, I am a third year/rising fourth year in big law in a specialist regulatory compliance group. I know big law isn’t for me, so I’m hoping to pivot next year (job market permitting). However, I am afraid that leaving as a fourth year means I don’t have enough experience. Did anyone switch from big law to an in house or similar role around the fourth year mark and feel totally under qualified? Or did you find you felt comfortable in the new position?

Are the recent economic troubles translating to slower hiring or lower salaries in life sciences industry? I want to transition to industry this year but am worried it may not be the best time to.

I'm in Silicon Valley, and been in the industry for about 15 years now. Fell into the corporate in-house role and been in those ever since. I primarily do marketing/brand design. I'd love to get to AD level, but I think my main issues has been that I rock the boat a lot and don't play the "corporate game well", piss off the wrong people. Is there a significant difference in total comp potential between ops and investments roles?
