Hi All, I recently had to relocate from Toronto to Regina due to wife's new job. I used to work remotely in Toronto. My company's office is in Toronto, but my client is based out of US and hence I work remotely. We do not have work from office manadate.

I asked my company to update the address to Regina in the system, but they are refusing to do so stating that they do not have any employees in this province and have asked my to maintain my Ontario residency

Have you had to change your start date after accepting an offer and how did it go? I told them I need to give 30 day notice and so I set my start date (incorrectly) assuming the background check and drug screen would take a few days to clear. However, the drug screen is now taking over a week and a half (still not finished, maybe tomorrow). Apparently things are much slower due to staffing issues and labs are backed up. It’s cutting into my 30 day notice significantly. Thoughts?

So, I just fired my first employee as a manager and I'm heartbroken. He was a great, great person but after 6 months on a PIP he just wasn't cutting it skills-wise. I know he was the provider of the household and his wife didn't have a job since she was raising three young ones. Needless to say, I had to take off because I felt terrible, sick to my stomach.
