I have no idea what the pay ranges are for this type of role but I’m guessing it could be more if you worked in the city. Where in Jersey are you? If you’re close to NYC or could commute there, there are probably better paying jobs in your field
If you’re fully remote, you probably make a little less?
This is always hard to do as a comparison because almost nobody has the same background and experience but I’ll give you my data and you can see if it helps at all. I have a PhD in chemistry but I work as a corrosion engineer in a plant. I have 5 years of experience. I am considered an SME for the site in the greater Houston area. I don’t have any direct reports. I make $115k per year with a potential 20% bonus (bonus is attached to company performance not mine).
I’ll add to the comparison. I’m in a LCOL area and have 10+ years experience in my field. I work at a major healthcare insurance company and am in healthcare analytics and considered a sme and a lead on my team. I manage etl and support data engineering deliverables. I am not a manager of people but am preparing to in the next few months as my boss is wanting me to step into a manager role. I currently make $140k base and about a $20k annual bonus which is tied to company performance.
