Hi All, I’m currently and finance 4yrs (regulatory reporting) and I’m looking to gain a few certifications in internal audit starting with the practitioner, then going to the CIA, then going to risk management.

I’m looking to increase my salary from 135K to about 175K.

Any suggestions on a route that I could take to reach 175K or more in this field?

I have an interview for an in house position (only attorney) at a small non-profit focused on conservation easements. I am a transactional associate at a mid sized law firm. The prospect of freedom from the billable hour and contributing to meaningful work are the draws. The cons are that while the salary at the non-profit would only be slightly less than what I am making now, pay increases and opportunities for advancement will be much less than where I am now. Thoughts on making the shift?

So as we were the first to get hit with COVID in NY, we are seeing declines in numbers now. Travelers are cut short of their contract, our hours are getting cut, and staffs are laid off. Got a call yesterday from HR that now staffs need to file for unemployment to compensate for the lost hours. We risked our lives for this fight, now they are letting us go. Shit’s fucked.
