Hi All, looking for some advice. Im trying to pivot more to the legal side of privacy while not loosing the cyber data privacy side. Currently in Consulting (3 years) with several years prior in broad People, Process, Tech functions. No Law degree but MBA and working to obtain CIPM & later perhaps CIPT while self learning E&US. What are some good places to work? And what kind of job titles can I research?

If you really want to do the legal side, you need to become a lawyer. There are some compliance roles that are adjacent, but it’s not really the same.

I work in a similar space. Engineering undergrad, MBA, started in cyber consulting, moved to privacy when GDPR started. Have CIPT and CIPP/US. (And PMP, CISA and CIA). I work mostly in compliance - assessing, building, and upscaling privacy programs. I get a lot of my work from external counsel reference. All the big4, FTI, tier2 accounting firms, some law firms have privacy consulting practices that don’t require law degrees. However, if you want to be on the legal side, you need a law degree.

Not OP but there are privacy law certificates offered by law schools now FWIW

Walmart has given me 2.55 Lakh RSU.so how it works.
On the offer letter they mentioned that RSU award will vest over a four-year period based on the anniversary of the grant date in 25% installments.
Is it like i will get around 64K per year ?

Low billable, low pressure work in privacy law? Slowly realizing that as my boys get older, the money isn’t worth what I’m missing out on. Currently a tech litigation associate with lots of hearing, depo and trial experience (I’ve appeared on my own at hearings/depos) at a well respected firm. I have limited privacy experience despite being hired for that reason… Have my CIPM and CIPP/US /E and /C. Remote preferred; hubs is pilot with cool intl transfer opportunities. Money isn’t issue.
