Just took the training recently and some colleagues have already taken the exam. If you work in privacy and already hold a CIPP certification, should be a cakewalk is what their review was.

This was my experience also, although it has been a few years for me.

Took it a few months ago. Already held the CIPP/US and found CIPM to be much easier. Mostly a lot of common sense with some definitions and terms you’ll need to memorize.

like

I’m doing the reverse. Did CIPM first now need CIPP. I didn’t find the CIPM to be that difficult but I did study for it much like I did for the bar exam.

like

Did you do an outside training or the IAPP’s own training! Been thinking about doing this one next, took the CIPP/US a few months ago.

Training is terrible, materials outdated and some mistakes in the content. It's really easy to pass, but definitely not worth it

Would you pass on her due to that additional cost, or consider it worth it to see the derm you want to see?

I want to say I love working at my school, but I'm a little frustrated. Yesterday was bus driver appreciation and the teachers went outside after school to hold signs for them, amazing right? Today is secretaries day and they posted signs all over the office for them, I find that 100% fantastic! The problem I have is that paras and janitors we're barely acknowledged. Our sunshine said something to us a days after para appreciation day and my team, sped and grade team, both acknowledged us...

Hi all,
Been doing privacy for about a year now in-house. Got my CIPP/US.
Having major imposter syndrome still. I feel like the minute I finally have a grasp, something changes. The law and nuances just seem overwhelming. Maybe it’s just a lack of guidance/uniformity in the US. I’m not sure if I feel this way because it is simply the nature of the work or because I’m just not capable.

Hi all! I’m inclined on taking up the CIPM training and certification exam. I’m already a certified Data Protection Officer in the Philippines. I intend on skipping CIPP as it applies to the US and EU.

How difficult was the exam? Can you share your experience studying for the CIPM exam? Is it advisable to skip CIPP?

Many thanks in advance.

So as a 30ish yo with a government/PE/tech background and CIPM/CIPP… I’m finding privacy work is just much easier and interesting than other kinds, but still pays plenty well.

Is it too late/inadvisable to go to law school to specifically aim for privacy work?

I just find some firms are unwilling to entertain the idea that anyone but a lawyer has anything relevant to contribute in this space…
