Hi folks,
I was holding an offer from Cognizant and on my LWD itself I got an offer from a product based company. I have decided to go there. I called my recruiter for my offer declination, he mentioned, they'll blacklist me. For what time can they blacklist me? Will they blacklist me forever?

I like Breaking Bourbon’s reviews (linked above by Deloitte 1). A lot of my learning was just trying all sorts of bottles, but I would recommend you to be a little weary of “craft” distillers. A lot of smaller brand craft stuff is very young and has an off putting grainy flavor. I also read “Whisk(e)y Distilled”and found it interesting, but I tend to nerd out when I find a hobby I’m interested in (cigars, whiskey, barbecue).
DD1, that's exactly what I'm thinking and trying to do but like I don't know enough on the brands, especially burbon and scotch.

Fred minnick has written multiple books on bourbon. Great place to start. Also check out the bourbon pursuit podcast.
I prefer to drink over reading! Some good whisky places like the Flatiron Room in NYC have curated tasting flights
I was posted to Tel Aviv for 6 weeks once and drank my way through the whisky menu of a local Irish bar near my Sheraton

And hunting for allocated bottles can be fun (I live in a controlled county, so camping out can get you hard to find bottles at MSRP), but private barrel picks are where it’s at in my opinion.
I know. A liquor store next to me get some allocations every once in a while and I haven't been interested enough to join in but now I want to.
Try some good japanese whisky before you get captured by the bourbon tribe
The founder of Nikka got his training in Scotland, and married a Scot, so you have a strong foundation in Scotch already! I like trawling the website of The Whisky Exchange, it can be quite educational. I think if you try an Ardbeg, a Glenfarclas, a Macallan, Glenmorangie, and Bowmore, you’ll get a good tour of different profiles.
I say taste things as much as possible and buy what you like. Go for variety over quantity. Don’t waste time chasing hard-to-get bottles unless you’ve had a chance to try it and really enjoy it. Over time you’ll build up a collection pretty easily that matches your palette. If you do a trip to a whisky region you’ll end up amassing a reasonable collection almost overnight.
