Curious, for scotch, are you all traditionalists, rock(s), or neat?

Depends on the pour. 40-46% I’m usually neat. Something with more oomph I’ll add a few drops to open it up. Makes a huge difference in profile.

like

Agreed , especially cask strength!

Always with a splash of water to open up the aromatics

like

Prefer neat, but depends on the scotch. Even a splash of cold water would be enough sometimes

like

Neat, always

With scotch, always neat

I should clarify: by "traditionalist," I meant "with a small amount of water." Depending on the dram, I'm either a traditionalist or one small rock (very not traditional since it chills the whiskey in addition to add watering). Almost never neat. Sounds like y'all are mostly neat people.

like

I’m a very neat person!😂

Neat. Once in a blue moon I’ll put in a couple drops (and no more) of water to active some additional aroma.

like

I like a sphere or large rock

like

Neat with a little water sometimes

like

Neat more often than not, but rocks for my Irish

like

Rocks. However, the amount of ice I use has dramatically decreased.

Depends on what I’m drinking, but I prefer neat

Rocks usually, unless it's abnormally expensive then neat

Neat, but use a frozen glass as I like it a little on the chilled side

Rocks if I’m out and drinking a few. I like Whiskey stones for the top shelf indulgence.

Traditional/neat

Neat normally but if it’s something new I’ll always try it with a few drops to see what opens up. If it’s summer or a particularly hot dram I’ll add a cube, but always on the side and only after tasting the way the distiller intended first.

Neat with a few drops of water to open it up

Traditional majority of the time. Neat on occasion. Rocks when out, not that that’s happened much this year.

Neat!

Cavatappi in Roasted Red Pepper Cream Sauce

Tired of of the same old boring tomato marinara sauce? Try a roasted red pepper cream sauce!

Red bell peppers are roasted in the oven until sweet. It is then blended with caramelized onions, garlic, red pepper flakes, sun dried tomato paste, and cream into a silky, smooth and velvety sauce. Finish the sauce with a knob of butter and coat your pasta. Cavatappi works well here. Don’t forget to shave a little Pecorino Romano

I’m teaching summer school at a high school, and the co-principals have asked me to focus on only 2 to 3 chapters worth (what they are calling “2-3 standards” in the eight days of summer semesters. However, they are also asking me to give kids the midterm and/or final at the end of each period, which covers 4-5 chapters each semester. My question is this: “Is it legal by California Ed code for the administration to ask me to teach less than each entire semester, yet test each whole semester?”

I understand that the lagavulin 12 is rarer than the 16, but is that much better than the 16? My local binny's has the 12 (limited cask strength 2018) for $150, and the 16 for $89.99.

Saw this post by Bloomberg business and found it laughable. I’ve only really gotten into whiskey, specifically bourbon over the past year or so but I’ve never really thought of the color as a driving factor in what I choose or what drives a bottles value
