Hi everyone, I graduated from NYU a couple of months ago and I have been applying to jobs constantly since then. I have received a lot of rejections and very few call backs. I would really appreciate if anyone could offer me any advice and I’m open for one on one discussion. Thank you!

Do lots and lots of cold emailing- ask about internships and informational interviews. Join meet up groups related and not related to your industry. Get a part time job any where. Network network network. Talk to everyone about the job you’re looking for! Take every coffee meeting! When you get a lead, follow up every 1-2 weeks. You’ll get there! And remember, there’s no perfect job!

I honestly struggle with the politics of Afghanistan. It does appear that after 20 years we leave and within months it goes back to very similar or on its way. It’s not the US job to be the world police we did try to build coalitions and fail at the end of the day unless we’re willing to keep troops there forever which most Americans don’t want to I am not sure what the right thing to do is. And I’m sick of criticism just for the sake of the president. I don’t think there’s a perfect solution

For the NJ folks who work in NYC - my potential new employer has offices in both NJ and NYC. The NJ office is a 1.5 hour drive vs. NYC ~40 min commute via train. Still very much hybrid work arrangement. Given the option, which office would you prefer to be based out of and why? Mostly asking from a tax perspective. While I believe it’ll even out when filing, I’d be paying state tax in both states throughout the year, right?

Bain & Company Is it truly easier to get in a smaller MBB office?

Have heard a lot for different opinions on these. The logic is that it’s easier because there is a lot of supply in cities like NY, Chicago and SF, but the counter argument is that the offices with less supply are also way smaller and have a lot less demand.
