What band and ctc can I target for ?

Ideally you will be on Band 7B. Also, Band is decided at the time of job role posting.
So, you cannot do much on the band. Push for the fixed component hard. Target for 40-45 fixed. Better to quote 45.
But I don't know if they will provide you with that fixed component. (Base Pay)

IBM is known for stabilization. You can figure out what you are willing to give. But honestly.
It's better you get a higher band. They are not going to promote you unless you pass a certification known as Developer Profession (which I say as Technical Business Profession), because it checks your business compatibility not the Development capability.
My Thought - I will stay away from a company that uses certification as a parameter to block promotions. Because I am not a fan of certificates.

Trying to set family expectations and would love thoughts on 2 things. 1. How long after baby will I be ready for visitors beyond our parents? I’m thinking a few weeks. 2. Our 3 grandmothers are 1-3 hour flights away (3 diff places) and cannot travel. When will we be ready to take baby to see them? I’m thinking 4-6 months but that would also be flu/RSV season. Can’t predict the future but family is already talking about trips and I want to set expectations and do what is best for baby. TIA!!

What is typical wait time on bench to get projects (for non Java people)?
Are there any salary deductions on bench?
I heard Sapient have fired people on bench in past. Some have mentioned it is no more a practice currently. Need insights on this?

What are your thoughts on pay discrepancies based on family structure? Ex. Two people do the same job but one is paid more or given a larger bonus “because they have kids and you live alone” or “because their family is struggling”.
