TCS is the worst company one can be in.
Cheap mindset management cares more about timesheet, wfo, forceful mandatory trainings, imposing strict restrictions on laptop, access to personal docs only via vpn,no employee well being no salary hikes nth at all.90% projects filled with freshers coz they cost less.No WLB for good dedicated hard working employees as they are punished with more and more work, leaves rewards mostly for people who don’t work. But no issues kyunki job security hai 😂
Looking for referrals for Facebook (Meta) if anyone can help me out! I applied for the Associate General Counsel (Commercial) role and I’m coming from a publicly traded company where I have been Regional Counsel. I have 10 years experience in-house, 5+ doing commercial agreements. I’m really interested in this position, so if you’re willing to refer me please send me a message and we can work something out! Thank you!@

Here’s my dilemma:
• The VC consulting role sounds incredible for long-term growth and connections, but I might end up jobless. In the worst case scenario I will get to work for 6 month, Is that good enough to let go of two solid stable roles? If they really wanted me for a longer role wouldn’t they outright hire me instead of hiring as a consultant given that I have been working with them for over 2 years and they know my skill set. I am worried they might just be hiring me to mitigate short term impact due to my departure.
. I will have more chances of growth in the larger organization paying 175k rather than my current role. But is it stupid to let go of current comp for potential future gains 5 years down the line?
I would also ask somebody closer to the situation who you trust.
My initial thought is if your client needed a real FTE they would just offer a permanent position.
The salaries difference is significant. Were you underpaid before you put your notice in?
For your VC role I think it is better to have a guaranteed role - especially in an uncertain job market- over the possibility of a cool job that may never materialize. Did they scope out what the 6 months are? If it’s for one project/client and then scope ceases even if they wanted to offer you FTE there might not be an actual role for you to support.
In your current role - I can’t answer whether to leave or to stay because I think that comes down to what made you start looking in the first place. From a comp perspective, your current firm seems willing to ante up. Could you go to this competing offer and let them know of your counter in salary to see if any wiggle room? Maybe if they could come up to 200 it would feel like an easier choice?
I’m a proponent of if you are going to bring the first offer to your current firm for a counter than you either were planning to take that TO stay and leverage comp or you were always planning on walking. Don’t let promises of changes color why you felt it was time to leave in the first place .
