Not sure what state you’re in, but my husband was a para making $28k before going back to school. I think a lot of AR jobs start in the 40ks where we are. Will be tough because this market, since there are people with 4 year degrees and more AR experience fighting for positions rn in this economy. If your school isn’t mostly relying on federal funding and will continue to accommodate student IEPs, it may be more stable to stay put for now & passively apply to AR jobs for now.
Just moved from Philly recently and there are definitely more AR opportunities closer to the larger cities. My sister is in central PA and works for the state as a DHS case worker, helping connect families with benefits. I know she makes above 45k and can do overtime since her provisional period ended. The job is hard because of the clientele, but they are constantly hiring & have the state pension plan. Ik your current job takes a lot of patience as well, so may be worth checking out if you’re looking for more $$ overall
You can definitely get back into accounting and make some good money. I think the hardest part is going to be finding a job because the job market sucks. I have several friends who have been looking for six months and can't seem to find anything.
