The private company I audit their accounting is so chill. They don’t close books until like 3 months later

I work for a private company and the close deadline is 2 days after month end. The accounting team works 24/7 those 2 days basically but it's chill the rest of the month. Basically it varies
We have so much work that would be impossible for us, hence us starting long before the quarter month ends. Sounds nice if the work is actually just concentrated into two days tho vs weeks of working longer hours.
Private company I interned at during college had a really flexible close. Usually around 2 weeks, but if there there items outstanding they would just push it so long as they finished up before the following month ended. Super chill and laid back
Maybe, but reall boring, same stuff year after year. I lasted 6 months when I left public as a senior.
Depends on management but most of the time; it’s way more relaxed. My gf works for a BIG public company. Never done an hour of OT in over 15 years and she’s in Finance
