None are purrfect since they operate on a reimbursement model and the youngest, healthiest animal costs the least to insure. So, put money into one that pays you back more than you pay them. Or, pay cash. Vets have wildly different prices. Like medical, they have a price list you cannot see. Try to attend shot clinics at Petco or Tractor Supply, and get the vaccines on time. Bloodwork annually until age 10-12, then every six months. In the interim, save about $20,000 or marry a vet. Also, book your vet out in the middle of nowhere, rent is always based on property values. Every other part of small animal veterinary practice is the same cost to the vet. Seek recommendations from the grooming salon, dog park, random kind strangers, or bar patrons.

After our research we ended up with Lemonade. We thankfully haven’t needed it for any emergencies but basic care was extremely
easy to get reimbursed.

Can anyone tell me about infusion nursing? How did you get into it? (I see a lot of job postings but they all want experience.) Also I got my RN early in the pandemic, so I never got a preceptorship, and I’ve since worked mostly in immunizations. Took a phlebotomy/IV course for more practice, but… any advice?

Have you ever taken a career slow down? I am feeling burnt out from COVID and the incremental responsibilities thrown my way over the last 5+ years. I feel like my health has deteriorated. I like my company, but I want to do less. I don’t need to be a HR Director, CHRO, etc. With a career slowdown, I am prepared for a lower compensation and would want decent benefits. Any lessons learned or success stories about career slowdowns?

I have a hard time articulating and communicating ideas to my team. On top of that, English is not my first language. I’m 27 but sometimes I feel like a jr. How can I empower myself and beat the impostor syndrome ? Do you honestly think that being a woman I have to work twice harder for it?
