Hi there, I have an interview next week with KPMG about a communications role within the US law team. I have a strong communications background. The weaker part of my background is on my knowledge of the most important US laws governing corporations (something they want). There so many laws out there- any guidance on where I should start my research and what to focus on? I don’t need to sound like a lawyer- just someone who is informed. Thanks!

That’s such a broad thing and it’s not clear what you need to know. I say this as a lawyer with ten years experience

This will really depend on industry, department within the company, etc. idk if it’s realistic expecting you to know about what can touch the business but I assume it’s comms related? So anything the FTC and other governing bodies put out for comms?

Please, I need your opinion on this. I have 6 years of experience as a software developer and just finished my masters degree in data science. Now I am looking for a job here in the US. I went through the hiring process with this company and finally got an offer. They offered 88k/year and I responded opening a negotiation. They emailed me back saying that I am no longer in this process anymore with no further explanation and in Thanksgiving day. Is that normal?that email really got me very upset

Can a newspaper use my photo without my consent?

I'm not a reporter, I'm just a citizen who took a picture during an event and uploaded it to my social media account. Turns out a digital media wrote me to have permission to use my picture, and when I said yes, they said they were looking for some other picture because I had already given permission to the competitors, which I didn't.
They just posted it without asking me, letting me know, or even mentioning my credits. Is this legal?

After being broken up now for 14 months - I think I still love my ex. We were together 6 years, and never fought. I thought I would spend the rest of my life with him. I don’t know why I can’t move on. It’s my birthday weekend and I have plans all weekend, but can’t stop thinking about this. I’ve been out with lots of great guys, but I keep holding on that maybe… one day we will be together again. Then my ex texted me today to let me know he and his new fiancé are moving to (cont. below)…

Any advice on how to deal with a partner/boss who is shifting all responsibility to me with zero guidance, no mentoring, and an unwillingness to discuss the issues?
