Ok be honest, candidates. I really love this set of questions, I’ve been considering shifting my current interview style to these questions - I think they really give you an idea of who this person would be within the work setting. But the questions almost feel too deep for a recruiter to ask. What would you think if a recruiter took a different path and asked these questions instead of the usual ones?

I’m sure you’ve seen it, the associate who has to cover all the hearings for the Partners/Senior Attorneys. You know the status hearings where nothing happens, then they have to go back and draft every motion, but never get to argue them. All the work with no growth.
You have experience and you want to ensure that you’ll be able to use that experience and you really need to find out what a typical day would look like. Ask about trials, prelims, etc.
