I've been thinking of changing my role as a Medical Assistant and pursuing Surgical Tech. I love patient care, being a Medical Assistant is so rewarding, it brings me joy to provide comfort for patients coming to their appointments. I want to advance my skills, I don’t have any big goals at this time but I feel that the surgical tech role will be beneficial.

I'm two thirds through the PMA Core Certification, and the info is great but the tests are a joke. They need to contract with an educator that specializes in testing and assessment to come in and develop exams that actually measure if you know the material. The bad test design devalues the certification. Not to zero, but I definitely will not be proud to have earned it. It just means I had $1300 and sat through 15 hours of video lectures.

I started QA at the company I am currently at 3 years ago. Long story short, within 4 months at the company, I was able to make a career change and step into a PM position. Without having the formal education or PM experience, only my 5 years in QA experience. When I started I made $65k and have jumped to $78k. I have seen other companies post $100k+. Annual review is tomorrow. Should I fight for more or look for more somewhere else if I lose that fight?

I’m a second year BigLaw associate that pays market. I was offered the position at a modified salary and hourly expectation due to their expected work flow needs. I’m wondering what is the best way to approach the topic of getting on the full salary/hours. Do I wait until the bonuses are given at the end of my first year? Or bring it up at mid-year review? I was recently promoted, and now part of my team report to me. I'm now able to see their pay rates and I am honestly so disappointed in the company. Especially since we just gave annual raises in Feb, plus we can all see where the money is going and it's not to the employees. Makes me sick
