Hopefully not silly questions: Can current MBA students apply to experienced hire positions, or are those positions more for laterals?

If we previously applied to another office, how would it be looked upon to apply to another office this time around? Would speaking to someone in that office help our case?

Any really impactful books that have helped you career-wise? Not necessarily consulting focused. In need of guidance and a new book so figured I'd kill two birds with one stone or whatever.

What can I do outside the office to boost my resume and be a substantially more attractive candidate for top consulting firms in ~12 months time. Working in disputes and valuation role but want to go into management consulting next year (post MBA role). I feel like my job isn’t enough because skills aren’t considered as transferable outside this field.

I finally found a bottle of Eagles Rare today, hoping I haven’t over hyped it all this time I’ve been hunting for it!

I work in a firm that is known for litigation defense. I’ve been developing my own plaintiffs practice as well. I am able to pay the bills with my hourly defense work, which gives me time to focus on a handful of high value PI case a year on contingency. I was recently negotiating a case and was told part of the reason the claims rep/OC was jerking me around was because they didn’t see me as a plaintiffs attorney. Is there any way to change this perception or does it just come over time?

For folks who’ve done R1/R2 interviews at BCG… how useful did you find the CaseCoach courses? I’m a week out before my R1 and I’m wondering if it’s going to be time we’ll-spent. Would love to hear “ignore this, definitely do that” sorts of advice if possible. (For background: I’m familiar with Victor Cheng, I’m using RocketBlocks, practicing live cases, consumed a bunch of YouTube videos, etc.)
