Most of BNY employees reviews(Glassdoor, ambition box) about frequent lay off. Is it true ?

Advice needed! Have just been asked to Freelance with W2 form. Without any benefits. Is this even possible? Would I lose my eligibility for Unemployment insurance once the gig ends? I was laid off from my full time agency job 2 months ago and have already freelanced as self employed on an LLC since. Seems like they’re being tight and taking advantage of the current climate.

Need advice: currently unemployed. got laid off last week. still applying and interviewing daily but can’t get over this one opportunity. the process has dragged on for a really long time. had a convo with the COO 2 weeks ago and haven’t heard back sense. Personal lines agents that work from supplied leads, have you guys noticed a huge slow down in lead quantity this year over last? I am writing almost half the business that I was this time last year, I’m starting to get worried about lay offs at my job if this continues. I have my 3rd out of 4 interviews today for an internal transfer. This position wouldn’t be a promotion but rather a lateral move. 4 interviews? That’s more than an outside hire, the whole reason I’m being considered is my unique value I’ll be bringing to that department.

P.s my final interview is with my current manager who is NOT in charge of the new department… he also told me he didn’t think I was ready for the change when I initially told him I was making a move. Let’s see how it goes!
