If you take a small screwdriver you can carefully put it in the space around the top of the clip and wiggle it off. The thing to be careful about is that if you do it too quickly those suckers can go flying off and then you'll be searching for them with a magnet. So use one hand to kind of block that from happening while you wiggle with the screwdriver with the other hand. When you do it once or twice it becomes second nature.
Use of small flat screw driver to push the pin backward can remove the pin
The e clips I recently worked with didn’t require a ton of force. I would avoid metal tools so you don’t gouge the pulley/gear. A flat plastic block should be able to push it off
propane torch will cause the material to expand
A pick tool in the gap normally works well, pop a rag behind it as they tend the fly off
