Hey 🐟 fam. I’m starting a new gig next week that’s 90% WFH. I’d love some recommendations on a second monitor. Nothing crazy pricy, but something that’ll work well with my MacBook Pro. Thanks y’all.

Dell ultra sharp 4K usb-c model. Amazing Ergo adjustments, and screen quality. Usb-c means you just have one connection from your MacBook to the monitor that gives you audio video and access to several USB ports if needed directly on the monitor.

like

Thanks. I wasn’t planning on spending that much, but maybe I have to readjust expectations here. I’m not sure if I need 4K. It’s just ppt and xls action.

I have the LG 34” ultra wide it’s dope. Basically 2 screens in 1. There’s also a 29” that may be better for you if you don’t need that much size. It looks great. Would get a warranty from bestbuy or something though Bc I damaged mine in transit. It’s fragile

like

Oh I like this one. Is curved necessary? It’s been so long since I bought a monitor. I think 27-29 is perfect for me. Won’t be doing anything wild in excel. Mostly PPT and some excel models

Samsung M7 32 inches 4k
This monitor is a smart monitor with TV features.
If budget is an issue go for M5 series

Take me with you

If you work with lots of large excel then get a ultrawide monitor with 2k or 4k resolution

2k or 4k resolution is a must. 27" screen minimum

So, I've tried a few different positions and still hate practicing law BUT I was approached about a contract role that won't have billable hour requirements and I won't be steeped (I think) into the law firm's toxicity, so I'm wondering if it could be the closest thing to a 9 to 5 for law. Pay is hourly which seems weird, but I would have time to devote to hobbies and life generally. Has anyone been tempted by or accepted these contract opportunities, and what's your hot take?

Hello All - I struggle with time management. I take medication but I have no idea whether a task will take 40 mins or 4 hours. Because of this, I over commit and under deliver. Also, having been on the receiving end of criticism, over time I have developed a perfectionist streak. I won't turn it in if it is good enough. How do you break out of this habit?

Any resources to help the brain structure tasks and make better estimates? Much appreciated, thanks!

DE&I is now a core leadership competency. If you are managing diverse talent, it’s important to understand what the term “privilege” means within a DE&I context so you can lead your team to higher levels of inclusivity+develop optimal strategies for solutioning around team issues/challenges. Everyone has some aspect of privilege depending upon the context. Privilege means the absence of obstacles/barriers, not necessarily the presence of perks. Though some would say *that* itself is a perk.
