How come referrals don't work for me? I've applied to three different jobs in companies where I had a friend/acquaintance who was willing to offer me a referral, and they even spoke to HR and put in a good word for me. I got rejected from all three of them, and I was using referrals as my last resort after 5 months of unemployment and constant rejection. Now what do I do? I feel like there's no way out.

This is so interesting, I haven't heard this from anyone else and I've personally never had this problem when I've gotten referrals. I wouldn't assume this means referrals don't work though. I think referrals are still the best way to land something, even if sometimes they don't pan out. Just keep plugging along, the referrals will eventually lead to interviews!!

Why would referrals be your last resort?? Use your network to get connected into the places you want to work. Id also ask those connections if they might be willing to share any feedback they may have heard.

That's strange. Like others mentioned, I'd definitely still use referrals as the most important thing before applying to jobs. It's the only thing that helps these days.

I have received an offer in TCS accepted it and submitted the documents for BGC. The CTC i mentioned is 13L in iBegin portal and uploaded the same recent hike letter. But my current company retracted my offer of 13L and salary/payslip are with old offer and i have submitted documents with new offer letter which is 13L. I am little concerned it might impact negative on my BGC.. Any suggestions . please Tata Consultancy

Let's talk unhinged pro se opposing parties. We have one that emails the entire firm every few days with these SCREEDS that are like weird stream of consciousness accusations of baseless criminal and unethical conduct. So far there have been 2 emails already today. A GAL has been appointed and ordered to do a psych eval on this party, but is there any sense in responding in the mean time? Everything we say seems to get twisted.
