How do I study for reg. There are a lot of rules and tax laws and memorizing isn’t one of my best traits. Any suggestions to get through them?

You must memorize deductions, QBI, book to tax...But, if you will do MCQs in Becker it will stick to your memory by itself.

You don’t have to remember every little detail. Hammer those MCQs, write notes/flash cards on difficult topics and practice sims. Don’t psych yourself out.

Do you think the becker mcqs would suffice. I did well with the contracts but when it comes to individual and partnership not so well. Thought I'd supplement with ninja and I'm really overwhelmed after looking at ninja mcqs :(

I don’t use Becker, but my associate who used it only used Becker and passed. He would take notes, flash cards that he made and rewrote the notes he made. Honestly don’t think you need the supplemental material. I would suggest just reading what you’re getting wrong about the topics and focus on them for a few hours. I know this is cliche but hammer the MCQs on what you’re getting wrong and it’ll start to click what you’re supposed to be looking for.

Mid level atty in a fast moving case. Earlier this year jrs brought on the team to help lessen work flow. Both partner and I delegate certain tasks, esp when we’re super busy. Junior goofed regarding deadlines (which I had to ask for twice); now partner is stressed, tho we should be able to lock in an extension. Jr took ownership of the slip up. I owned that I should have checked his work, but I feel that I hurt my rep. w partner. What to do? Lay low? Not a fan of throwing ppl under bus.

I’m so happy to say that after about 5 years of being here, I’m finally done with the exam!!! In a world full of internet trolls, it was so refreshing to be on this thread while we all cheered for each other and pushed each other to climb over our failures and discouragements. Thank you for all who have posted helpful comments, asked poignant questions and left their encouragement! If I can pass, you will pass! Best of luck everyone!

I’ve taken FAR a few times at this point. I got two 74s and this past one I got a 70. I felt like the last exam (which was a few weeks ago) was extremely harder than the other ones. Has anyone else noticed the exam getting extremely tough? Or do you think I just got a one off?

New York folks:
Are you aware of the CPA exam credit extension to 2021 for NY CPA candidates impacted by COVID19? It’s on a person-by-person basis and you need to request the extension. Has anyone tried doing this yet? Can anyone shine more light on this? The extension would really help me, but I’m not sure what more to tell them in my email than the fact that I couldn’t sit for the exams this Spring/Summer due to test centers closing in NYC.

Anyone take far recently? Took today and have no clue how it went tbh. Sims were pretty toils - felt like I blindly went through them
