I see some negative comments here which is expected. But trust the process dude sometimes it is as simple as that. See as long as you are not getting fired, you try to do your best and upskill the required tech asap and understand the company stack well. Use ChatGPT where you need to understand things if seniors aren’t responding well. You are not sending rocket to mars, so don’t beat yourself so hard. Cheer up dude !
People who are unable to make any change to their current state out of fear will try to demotivate you. But bro i have also gone through this and thats how you grow out of comfort zone and you grow.
Are you fresher ?
I meant just Linux you said.
Being Devops and experienced, i feel there are minimum skills that are expected.
CICD
Configuration management
Docker or any container related
Scripting
Infra as code
If you are fresher, you might not be having any experience
Then do upskilling
You need to be serious
The profile is demanding
Have you switched to devops recently having 4 yoe in some other role?
Can you please confirm and let us know what was the previous role?
Also the previous CTC and the CTC you joined as devops?
Looking forward for response as Your case would be really motivational to other aspirants 👍
Between, Upskill yourself.
Best wishes 👍
I was in a support role and cracked this role stating I have 4 years of experience. But the current role is so advance that even experienced are finding hard to understand and me here don't even able to understand the basics of it
And CTC shift from old role to new?
Kindly help in figures..
He won’t say bro
Devops is itself an advanced field , you can't just learn one stack and become a devops engineer . It all deals with production issues, freshers and less experienced people should not opt for devops, else it would be the same situation as you are going through . You should have a good understanding of the production environment and troubleshooting before going into actual devops which is infrastructure as code ,linux, ci cd , cloud , containers and all the new emerging technologies in infrastructure automation area.
Regarding seniors behaviour , you are not a fresher they will babysit you , you have to be on your own if you are joining as experienced. This is everywhere in every MNC.
So stop crying and face the situation you have opted into. You moved from the support role to the devops role . Definitely it would be challenging .
