How do you deal with a partner trying to cut you out from a client relationship that you sourced? I reached out to them to join the call because of certain expertise that could be helpful and now they are communicating with them directly with me cc’d.

Let this be a lesson learned to never bring in a partner without a clear understanding of how credit works. Some partners will graciously return a client when you're in a position to take credit, or find a way to list you so that you get some kind of credit. Others have sharp elbows and will do everything to take over the relationship and not even think you deserve any credit for initial sourcing.

It sounds like you don't have a deep relationship with the client, but you can try to cultivate what you can independently without making the partner look bad. Either the client will reciprocate and see you as a significant part of their relationship to the firm (and be vocal about that), or they won't. At least you have the skills to bring clients in, just have to build on that!

A tale as old as time. Happened to me several times…. Is there a written record of how you helped source this client?

Do you get origination at your firm?

I would ask that you get origination credit for this case too and be prepared to make an argument as to why. Talk to your managing partner about the origination credit only.

The client reached out over LinkedIn following a post I made about a conference I attended. I set up the initial call and then reached out to the partner to join the call. He completely took over and then sent the follow up directly without running it by me…

I’d also tell them you would like to continue to be involved as the client reached out to you first

E.g. email or calendar invites that show you met with them?

This happened to me and the partner actually fired me and tried to keep the relationship I brought in. She couldn’t stand the thought of me having my own client and being successful without her. I’m now at a different firm and doing so much better

What are your client follow-up/communication policies or practices? I’m hearing more and more that clients don’t like the long periods of time with little to no contact. From my perspective, since I bill for my time, unless I have an update or need something, I don’t initiate a call. Also, clients hold on to important info and don’t initiate a call cause they’re waiting for me to communicate with them.

Hi,
I have got an offer from Accenture and the fixed amount is 16lac and the only deduction they said will happen is PF from this 16 lac and it seems I need to bifurcate the split ups for the basic HRA and other allowance during the onboarding time.
Could anyone have any suggestions if this is a normal process for Accenture where they ask us to fill up the split ups.
Also, help me calculate the in hand approx for this.

Dubai people I live in Marquise Square tower and my neighbor is having a party literally every day till 4-5 in the morning- I spoke to him and he apologized and promised to keep it quiet but he didn’t. So I spoke to the security if they can tell them to calm down and the security said that he can’t do anything as it’s the weekend! Is that normal or should they give me a noise compliance and force him to stay quiet after some time.

I feel like I'm at my wits end. I teach self-contained classes and according to the ISBE website my classes shouldn't be more than 8 students unless I have an aide - then it can be 10. I have no aide and most of my classes are around 14 kids. Some with behavior plans that are only out of our behavior room setting for my class... Is anybody else out there going through illegal class sizes for self-contained? How are you dealing? Maybe a vent session is in order.
