Advice needed - boyfriend has almost 3.5 years of finance experience at a bank. Interviewed for PwC valuation senior associate and now recruiter says they want to hire him at “experienced associate” because he has no valuation experience. Is this too big of a step backwards in career? Should he push back and see if it gets him anywhere? If he does accept Associate, is it reasonable to ask for written, definitive timeline (1 year?) for promo to Senior upon meeting standards? Help!

Take 1 day at a time. Observe. Get a feel for your office. Don’t feel the need to fit in. Focus on doing well in your role. Be courteous, kind and honest. Be confident in your skills. Don’t be afraid to not know, so ask questions. The relationships will develop organically.
There’s plenty of opportunity. Go to team events, find a connection point with folks here and there. People in Big4 want to be friendly together, especially outside of client work
All the Big4 should also have small groups based on special interests and larger ones for most demographics. These groups frequently (at least at PwC) set up events where you can meet similar or like-minded people, which you may have an easier time with than the broader firm events.
The extroverts will find you. I’m extremely introverted like so introverted my only friends are from school or work. Wells Fargo is right just be really nice and yourself(hopefully you are a good person) and you’ll naturally develop friendships. Also going out to events and say yes - one of my best friends - we work in different areas so we knew of each other but it wasn’t until we went out to an event after the work event we realized we had a lot in common
