How important are thank you notes after an interview? Does timing matter?

When I was interviewing honestly they made no impact on me one way or the other but interested in others experiences and viewpoints.

I send them always. It takes 2 minutes to do. There’s no harm in doing so and adds another touch point - so why not?

Actually i tend to judge those that dont respond to a nice thank you. I think its poor manners. I try to always respond to a personal thank you after an interview. I was not impressed by the company that made me interview w 11 people. I wrote 11 thank yous and not one response. It was down to me and one other person out of 100 applicants. But if they call again I dont think I will jump to take that call after not receiving a single response to a personal thank you. And yes ive had other people respond in other companies. People forget that you never know when you are going to be on the other side of that thank you note

Most of the thank yous I’ve gotten from candidates are super standard boiler plate notes. If someone says something of note or worth responding to then I will but most are copy/paste jobs. I don’t bother responding to those since I don’t want to open the door or awkwardly interact with a candidate since I’m not the hiring manager. 🤷‍♀️ I definitely don’t care if they reply to the ones I send or note since I’m doing it out of obligation rather than sincere gratitude 90% of the time.

It pops up your name and you stand out from the crowd.

So, I've realised there's a problem with developers, a lot of them are coders, not engineers. And another issue, is that, companies don't really care about their progression as far as I'm aware, so what did you guys do in your own time to transition from being a coder to an engineer?

How long do you spend on monthly reporting for your clients?
My 3-person team spends about 15+ hours a month each writing monthly reports for our clients (99 small retainer clients). We’ve received feedback that they’re too complicated and the clients just want to know - are we on the right track, what action items are there, and what any next steps are in their strategy.
How do you simplify without losing value?

I just received my offer letter for PwC! I am nervous about needing to take time off, which I told the recruiter up front about, along with specific dates. I understand accruing time, but he said to not worry about it, it won’t be a problem. If I do not have the 3 weeks needed for PTO, can you use your sick leave, or go negative in PTO?

Hi everyone, I have an interview for a product manager role at a health tech start-up. Any ideas what some interview questions might look like?

So our CEO asked me and a colleague to give a Start/Stop/Continue Mid-year review of our CIO who’s been our Head of Product for a few months (Our Head of Product left because of him when that guy came in)

We have a lot to say and none of the PMs approves the way he operates.

My concern is that it’s meant to be transparent but if we’re honest and he gets called off, he will figure out it comes from us.

Never been in that situation before, is it better to be completely honest or a bad idea?

Any one recently joined Indeed? Want to know if Indeed asked for a reliving/experience letter from the previous employer. I am joining Indeed in July. I am going through a rough patch with my current employer, ever since I put in my notice 🤦‍♂️ Its got to the point of them threatening to not provide a experience/reliving letter…
I can provide references and recommendations. Before leaving, I just want to ensure that I am equipping my successor to take care of my product and build it further…

I interviewed at Amazon for a PM role in Dec. 2020 and was ultimely rejected. I was told I have to wait a year to reapply. Fast forward to June 2022, another recruiter reaches out to me re: a PM role. I pass the screening interview, and move on to the virtual on site interview stage. I randomly get a call from the recruiter telling me there is now a TWO YEAR reapply policy in place so I'm not eligible to interview for any PM roles until Dec. 2022. Anyone ever heard of this policy? Seems strange

I got invited to a second round interview with a big company. The title sounds more senior than my current title, but the work responsibilities feel like a step down. I am wondering if I should still interview (to see if they will consider me for my desired role instead or at least, get some interview practice for when a better opportunity comes along). Thoughts? Is it ok to reject the offer if they make one, on the grounds of the role not being a good fit for me.
