Take it. No question. I say this having worked for Omnicon twice. GTFO
Try have pretty much said unless you are %100 scoped you will get cut. I would also expect massive agency mergers. Not right away, but definitely within the next 2-3 years. If the other place looks like a good mid-term decision I’d jump now.
100% take it as someone who has been living through merger hell for 2 years
Also if you are junior/mid you have plenty of time to get your foot in at other reputable agencies. I would take the other off if I were you. Sorry, know it’s a tough decision :(
Thanks for the input everyone. I'm going to take it. So long IPG
I just got out of Omnicom. The grass really is greener on the other side. IPG will get “Omnicom-ized” as fast as they possibly can can convert the incoming shops. I’d jump now. Especially if you are in a healthcare account. Or at an agency with heavy healthcare client emphasis. There are lots of overlaps with agencies in the same category and I think the layoffs there will be huge. Same with PR.
Agreed that IPG health agencies are stronger. But do not count on Omnicom to make logical decisions.
I will never work for an omnicom agency again. Take that as you will.
Rumor is that I think there will be consolidation of creative agencies. Traditional agencies in particular. I do think that health is a bit more up in the air. The rumor is that IPG will be the model but I’d expect that it’s going to be more evenhanded.
That’s because OHG is more of a loose grouping of agency offerings with a weak leadership on top. IPG Health, on the other hand, is run like one big agency. And Dana runs a tight ship, with all leadership owing loyalty to her. It all depends on whether Dana is trusted by Omnicom’s top brass. And what she wants at this stage in her career.

Is it not a job you’d like outside of the looming omnicom situation? Does it offer more money or career advancement opportunities?
This is the correct answer. They’ve promised $750M in savings to Wall Street. And Omnicom is on top of this merger.
Scoped creatives on clients won’t be lost. Everyone else, yes.
