Hey everyone, I got a call from Deloitte recruiting on Wednesday of last week discussing salary requirements and location. They told me that the team really liked me and that they were going to work on an offer. I got a call on Friday saying one group has approved the offer but they are waiting on others. I haven’t heard much since then. Should I be worried? How much longer will I have to wait?

So - from personal experience, it’s a matter of how fast HR can move through the process and there are one/some approvals they need to get from partners. If said partners are on leave, traveling overseas, attending a client conference, busy selling some big stuff to a client, etc., then your offer gets delayed. It’s unfortunate but it is what it is. If you have other offers on the table you can certainly try using that as your leverage and see if the recruiter can help you push the process forward.
In my case between my verbal offer and my offer letter arriving, it was 4 months. I still joined the firm but promised myself to never work with that partner while I’m here. 🤦♂️
That’s insane. What level did you join at?
Depends on the level, group, time of year, and potentially other factors. If it’s for a senior associate position then probably not too long. I just received a senior manager offer from them and that took about 3 weeks to send. But for that they had to get more approvals given the higher level.
