7 months in and more integrated work wise but still socially feeling more isolated than everyone whose been working together for years. Takes time
Same. I’m 7 months in as well and just now starting to get consistent work.
Are you wfh or in office most days? Being in office really does things up for me. I’ve lateraled twice, the first time I was in one day a week and it took about a year to feel comfortable with everyone. This time, I’m in five days a week and four months in, I feel pretty well settled.
I’d also make sure you’re talking to the paralegals and assistants. They tend to be friendlier and that makes the whole environment feel warmer.
I’m in 3 days a week most weeks. But even when I come in, I literally don’t interact with anyone all day—all of my meetings are virtual even if others in the office are attending.

As A1 said, it takes time to integrate socially and get on the same level of familiarity with people who've been working together a long time. As far as general integration and getting staffed up, have you been reaching out to people in and outside of your practice group for coffee, lunches, etc.? People are busy and unless you have a dedicated integration partner, getting plugged in with the right people and making sure you are top of mind is sort of something you have to take personal ownership of (for better or worse).

Work wise, a few months. Socially, still getting there but it’s improving by the day.
I think I’m dispositionally slow to warm up, but it took me a year to feel like I was turning a corner, and now at 1.5 years I feel fully part of the team.
End of my 6th year
Same feeling here. Have you been busy ever?
I’ve been billing 35-45 hours a week but a lot of that has been kind of mindless doc review
4 months to start feeling apart of the firm and probably 8 months total to feel fully integrated!
It takes at least 6 months but more likely a year to really feel settled

I felt pretty much like a part of the team by the end of month 2 but these comments are making me feel delusional lol. I did choose this group specifically for friendly vibes and good integration. It probably helped in my case that a lot of the senior associates and partners were also laterals within the last 2-3 years.
