Dealing with some shit. Started a new job remotely (I’ll be moving there in Jan). First few weeks great. Now about 5 weeks in I’m getting feedback from my CD like “this isn’t where it needs to be” “we need you to push this” also snarky emails about my attempts at fixing the problem. It’s not hurt feelings so much (although tbh I am a little wounded) but how do I prevent this from turning into a downward spiral? How do I quit my firm? I’ve accepted a position with a previous employer (non-legal), and they’d like me to start in 2 weeks. Paralegals have an informal agreement to stay with the firm for 2 years and I’m a few months shy of that, so I’m afraid they will be difficult in paying out my bonus from last year and my unused PTO. Does anyone enter a “f*ck up” spiral and how do you get out? Like when you miss a nit or even larger typo in a brief or miss an issue in a sub/cite and someone calls you out in it, and then you doubt every proof you do, get anxious about f*cking up, and inevitably f*ck up again.
