I stayed in entry level for about 2–3 years before moving up, and honestly, the feel of the job changed more than the job title did. You usually trade some physical grind (constant customers, recovery, ringing) for more mental load with scheduling, dealing with call‑outs, handling customer escalations, floor moves, and getting nagged about metrics.
I stayed entry-level for about six months. We were severely understaffed and I was ready for a challenge and more money. You should prepare to discuss how you will approach the transition from associate to manager, what makes you skilled to lead, and then maybe even start taking on some responsibilities before you ask for the job.

Be prepared to manage other people. That’s the biggest part of your job.
