6 days. 8.5 hours each day
You get 7 hours on the record in my federal jurisdiction, absent a showing of cause for more . I’ve never needed more than 7 hours on the record which ends up being about a 10 hour day.
On the record time of about 13 hours . . . Essentially took most of two days. The witness did not speak English so we had to use translators (primary translator and check translator). Because we had to use translators there was agreement to extend the 7 hours of record time per party to 14 hours. We used about 12 hours and the opposing party went on the record for about an hour of cleanup
For context he was an executive in a patent case
I’ve seen 30(b)(6)s last longer than that for multiple designees but never a single person
3 days, about 20 hours on the record, lots of breaks and crying.
Does your jurisdiction not have time limits?
Right. Usually there is an option for the parties to agree/stipulate to more and/or get leave of the court. In many cases, 7-8 hours will simply not be enough.
12-14 hours.

Why are you on Fishbowl during a deposition and why has no one else asked that?
So……,,what’s your favorite kind of soup?
8 days, 8 hours a day and the witness could barely speak.
Delaware? Most jurisdictions have time limits and fed rules are 7.
I’ve had OC’s threaten to enforce time limits but never actually do anything. So I generally treat time limits as guidelines instead of rules. I’ve been on depos that have lasted over 20 days, and I have personally questioned an expert for over 8hrs in one day.
