How many of you have done any type of training such as Trial Lawyers University, Keenan Trial Institute, etc? Worth it? They can be pretty pricey.

I get their emails all the time. I'd also be curious

Worth it. You learn a lot. I attend a lot of them. Not sure if Keenan is as relevant anymore. I attended only one of those. Yes, expensive, but an investment into you as an attorney and your skills. The sooner you can become a better attorney the bigger the verdicts and the bigger the paycheck.

In person and network til I drop like til midnight or later. Got to get your work done and work extra hours to get caught up. But you want to make the big bucks got to do more than the average bear.

Panish read like a million trial transcripts before Court TV existed. We are lucky to have Zoom, webinars, and Court TV and such. That's why he is hitting companies for a billion dollars.

I find it funny when attorneys want the big pay checks but want to do the bare minimum. Like I want 6 pack abs and not work out as well.

I did the AAJ Trial Essentials College. I liked it a lot. It's good for new lawyers or someone with a few trials under their belt who wants to polish their presentation up a bit. Definitely worth the money and great networking. By far the most fun CLE I've done.

For Plaintiff's attorneys, how big is your caseload? What kind of cases are the majority of them and are they in suit? I am currently handling 150+ mostly MVAs and premise liability cases, just about all in suit, (on top of about 10 DUIs and other small traffic matters) and I feel like I'm drowning and looking to jump ship. What is normal/to be expected? In NYC area if that matters

Anyone know a Connecticut or 2nd circuit case for this rule? I can’t find one to save my life. A defendant generally is liable for all harmful results that are the normal incidents of and within the increased risk caused by their negligent acts. If a defendant's negligence was a substantial factor in producing the plaintiff's injuries, the element of proximate cause has been satisfied and the defendant would not be relieved from liability for those injuries even though another force concurred..

I received a job offer from a PI firm (MVA and tractor trailer cases) in Houston, Texas; the bonus proposed was 2.5% of attorney’s fees for any cases settled each quarter. We are assigned 50 cases a quarter and the top attorney clears $25K each quarter. This is my first time working at a PI firm. Can anyone share any guidance? Is 2.5% industry standard? Is it realistic to settle/resolve that many cases? I am trying to learn more about this niche before I counter-offer and attempt to negotiate.
