I’d like to move back soon
I guess I should have added also - what are the reasons making you want to move back?
I think about going back to the city fairly often, but I don't know if I'd actually do it. New York is great but it's always a challenge to deal with. But I do miss the people and the attitude and a lot of the cultural aspects.
As somebody considering the NY —> Miami move … would love these insights haha

Miami native here for over 30 years and I really struggle with the possibility of needing to move out of Miami just to live comfortably. Not by choice but we just can’t afford it anymore with a family of four. Even with six figure income household. We have been trying to purchase a new home for over two years and it just seems unattainable at the current home prices and taxes and insurance are ridiculously high. So much has changed here since COVID and the locals are the ones most impacted. And most companies are not adjusting salaries with the increased cost of living here. I don’t like the idea of moving my kids away from family but options are exhausted.
Do you all ever think of the taxes??
It depends on priorities and whether you value a little more cash vs other opportunities in NY. Completely agree on the restaurant scene here. Have you tried Chefpost? It changed the game for me and my family
