I got married at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden in 2019 and spent about $55k for 100 guests. Happy to discuss specific questions about a budget breakdown.

like

I'd love to know!

All-inclusive cost (including bachelorette weekend, Amalfi Coast honeymoon, jewelry, outfits etc) was $52K for 52 people. I tracked every cent lol kind of random it netted out that way. Also, we got about $30K in gifts so spent approximately $20k when all said and done. Wedding itself was at Ridgewood/Bushwick border.

We priced ours out and was going to cost over $100k, and that was basic costs for 125 people.. nothing extra thrown in yet. Weddings always end up over budget. We moved ours out of NYC.

And yes I *know* it can be done cheaper but there were some things we wanted in our wedding. Which is why we moved it

What?

like

Yep. Thanks all! Destination wedding is cheaper 😂

12k, including photographer and clothing. We rented out a bar in Brooklyn (with food included) for 75 people.

like

It was fun as hell. 10k (including tip), unlimited food and drink for four hours.

I should note that we just had a reception there — we got married at city hall. Doubt that would add to the price, though.

I got married at Brooklyn Botanic Garden, had a reception for 48 at Eleven Madison Park, and another reception in a Chinese restaurant for local relatives, and spent less than 20K including photog and dress

like

oh wow i hadn’t seen the news they went all plant based! there was a brief period when their signature duck was off the official menu and i was glad to discover i could at least still special request it anyway for my birthday. that dish will be missed by many.

Also ~12k, 60-70people. Central Park + manhattan neighborhood restaurant. Perfect size, perfect day - no regrets

like

Closed now. But a small neighborhood place that didn’t usually do weddings, had to email 20-30 to find

Getting married at Tavern on the Green in Nov. 70 ppl running around 50k incl. photographer, etc.

like

I think we spent $30-40k for ~150 people in Dumbo in 2016

Got married in 2019 at the Brooklyn Botanic with around 125 guests, and the total cost, including dress, vendors, etc. was around $140k.

$80k for 80 people in the city

Thanks all! Now I’m praying for and manifesting a a man to marry! Pray with me 😊

The metric they are using is % positivity rate.

My question is this - is this a fair metric and if not what is a better metric to compare if it’s getting worse and we need social controls?

I only got tested when I traveled out of state for wedding and thought I was at a high(er) risk for exposure. Tested positive but I was already expecting that. (Contd)

I got a decent deal on a small 1 bed in a luxury building (hell’s kitc). Should I do a 12 month lease or 24m?

Got the rent negotiated to under 3k + free amenities for a year (gym, pool, etc.). I’m afraid rent will atleast go back to the original price (+5%) and then some. The building has some sort of rent control but that’s predicted to go away in less than 1 year as per the lease. The legal rent limit is way higher.

Would love some perspective on renewal experience after 1 year. TIA.
