Hi Fishes, I am bit confused to pick the role in KPMG lighthouse as Sr Cloud Data architect or Saama technology as a Project lead. Money wise it is not a big difference. In KPMG I will work with partner where as in saama I will work with project/program manager. Please suggest your opinion. Saama KPMG KPMG India

For me, it’s just knowing when the right time and right place is. Try to sit down and be really honest with yourself, for better or worse. Find what your strengths are and make sure you are honing those, but find the weaknesses and what you can do there as well. Try to put yourself in situations where those strengths will shine and make a note of it.
Would you recommend something like Clifton Strengths also?
I think it all comes down to reading the room. Most of us have an elevator pitch at the ready, but if you deploy it at the wrong time you can come off as a self-promoting clod. The skill is in recognizing contexts where you can talk up your skills or wins without it being obtrusive or obnoxious. Easier said than done. But if you watch people closely you may see some crafty examples of it.
Thanks! Do you have an example to being able to hone that skill better?
It's such a hard balance. I want to advocate for myself but I also don't want to turn into that person that is always talking about herself or defending herself to the void. I have noticed that sometimes once people flip the switch of *advocating for themselves* they become kind of insufferable. Has anyone noticed this? Not sure how to strike the perfect balance but I agree with IA1 that it's about reading the room
Thanks for the insights!
