Hi, I'm leaving Citi in 2 months. It's hard to make this decision. I have an offer from a small startup. In citi, my previous experience was not considered and was reskilled to different tech which is the reason for change.I don't like to exit citi. As I like the company so much. But considering my current knowledge,I am in the middle of the sea.I am afraid now that the new company's offer would be revoked due to this recession?Or can I take back my resignation in citi before the last working day.Is this wise decision?

For me, I got a 15% raise. I've only been promoted once and I thought it was pretty decent. I asked for 20% but they came up from 10%.
I got a 10% bump two years ago. I imagine if I had been moving between higher rungs on the ladder it might have been more. Reportedly the current job market has been driving down salaries, so I wonder if that would affect promotions happening now.

When I was at Accenture Song my promotions were 8-15%. Now I’m in-house at a CPG and still working on the first promotion.

I would also add there are 2 other variables in my experience in Fortune 500 companies.
1. Where you are in your current pay band? If your at the top your bump will be smaller
2. Timing and performance of you company. When we were scaling fast everyone raise and promotion was at the top of the market, now things are tight across the board.
It was a little over 10% then.

Industry standard is 10-15% for a promotion — but that's also what companies use to lowball you. A true step-up in scope and responsibility should realistically be 15-20%, especially in marketing where title inflation is rampant. The uncomfortable truth: external moves still out-pace internal promotions almost every time. People are regularly jumping for 25-40% increases while loyal employees get a "we value you" and 12%. If your promotion bump doesn't at least match what you'd get leaving, it's worth asking why. What did you actually get?
