How soon is too soon for another vacation? I’ve planned a 2 week trip but am being asked by some friends to take another 2 week trip just 3 months later. Should I be concerned asking for that much time off?

I’m someone with one of those “Unlimited” PTO roles

How it's viewed within your organization probably depends on what is going on at the time. If it looks like you're bailing out when things are popping, that just isn't going to look good. Even though the PTO is unlimited, you'd still need approval, so if the timing is bad I assume you will be apprised of that.

I think two 2 week trips within 3 months might be pushing it a little bit, unless you've seen other people on your team take off that much time? I know I would be annoyed if someone on my team did that

funny

I think usually 5 week for the year is ok. So you should be fine

Is it busy season? Will you take more time later?

Get it approved and call it a day

What does a person do who doesn’t find any industry accounting jobs interesting? I’ve been trying to leave for 3-4 years and the only thing that interests me is people focused roles such as sales. I considered recruiting but I’m jaded based on my interactions with most. Public accounting is a decent spot for me but I’m wanting a more consistent schedule of 40-50 and the self centered/dog eat dog culture of my firm continues to crush my soul more and more the longer I stay.

Which offer should I accept? Currently staff 2 at big 4 in Tax with CPA license. I want to leave tax ASAP. Both are public companies +1B in revenue and same salary. Offer 1 - staff revenue accountant so reading contracts, speaking with the sales team and legal team, a lot of work at the end of the months to close books and reconcile transactions to make sure we are ASC 606 compliant. This track usually leads to director of revenue. Offer 2 - internal audit staff so SOX and compliance projects.
