Can you give more insight on current role? You’re a controller but don’t feel like an accounting professional?
I have 7 years experience. I told them I would be fine with senior if I could be evaluated and promoted within a year. But I would feel comfortable as Manager. I left my last firm equivalent to their manager position.
Can’t speak towards private, but I’m coming in as A3 to public audit and was given the remote option (in office 0-3 times per month). I’ve seen a lot discussion that this is being evaluated one fiscal year at a time, for PwC this is July-June
Coming from a private company that did not embrace any remote flexibility
That’s true! I feel like it may be easier to get a job when people see PwC rather than where I am now. Doesn’t hurt to see how a year goes and if it’s not what they promised or what I want out of it, get another job.
I work in private , and I love the exposure to a lot of things. Here is a link that sums it all up . Busy season is extended till July that is the only con. . But this is not for everyone ,

Thank you so much! This was very helpful!
Depends on which office you’re at. I’m in a short-staffed office where we keep adding clients for some reason. Managers and above get WLB, seniors and associates don’t. I can’t wait to leave
That’s so stupid. I feel like places like that can’t pick and choose who works remote if it’s company policy. I guess I don’t know the actual policy… well thank you for letting me know your opinion and wish you best! From my experience the private life is a little better with work life balance. That’s not always the case unfortunately. But there is less flexibility and sometimes the work is so boring. I def miss the work I did in public accounting. I’m also working for a smaller company that is so far behind in technology. Def look for a bigger private company if you leave!
