Depends on the indication and the phase of study . Can you be more specific ? What do you feel is lacking ?
Clinical Labs have to produce quality results! Even if you are an R&D lab, there still needs to be some kind of formality.
Do you have an SOP for each type of test?
Do you use calibrated equipment?
Do you use validated technology?
Even if you are doing urinalysis with a dipstick, somewhere in the process there needs to be a control and a reporting system. So your protocols might not be as wishy-washy as you think.
Btw: you can make a very healthy salary in this industry if you learn how to spot weakness or gaps in certain processes. You might be rewarded today, but your attention to detail is not common, most people are just following directions, but the folks who do audits and verifications of labs…those folks do very well.
