Daily standups, clear written expectations and, unfortunately, a lot of micromanaging - it's time consuming and frustrating. The hope is they will eventually improve.
Ohh wait you said analyst. Honestly they’re supposed to be apprentices needing handholding and help.
There is a limit, but yes it is time consuming to train a college grad for their first job. Not everyone has good sense and skills starting out.

You train them! It is your job to improve the performance of your team. If you can’t do that then you shouldn’t be a manager.
SM1, we need more people like you and not the other guy. That’s why you are a SM and they aren’t. Bless, SM1!
Roll them off and get a better one if you’ve already given feedback and they’re not improving.
Let em go. There’s a long line of people who deserve a chance instead.

Some people aren’t meant for consulting. I’ve had a few that no matter how much coaching, daily standups (sometimes 3 times a day), they just simply didn’t care to learn and grow.
